Expert workshop will discuss a possible new deal “Towards a Pan-European initiative in support of innovative creative industries in Europe”

The European Commission’s Enterprise and Industry Directorate-General in cooperation with the City of Amsterdam, the European Design Centre and the Association of Dutch Designers will organise a workshop in Amsterdam on 4-5 February 2010

The Mayor of the City Of Amsterdam, Job Cohen, will welcome around 75 innovation experts from the creative industries who will discuss how to follow a more strategic European approach in support of innovation in creative industries.

The seminar will discuss the growing economic importance and potential of creative industries for sustainable growth, jobs and innovation and identify key drivers and trends of creative industries. It will look into the relevance of clusters as favourable eco-systems and how to provide access to finance for entrepreneurship and growth in creative industries. New regional and national policy approaches and instruments in their support will be presented and policy recommendations discussed on how to take full advantage of all talents Europe has to offer in order to build strong creative industries in Europe that contribute to growth and job creation.Participation at the workshop entitled “Towards a Pan-European initiative in support of innovative creative industries in Europe” is upon invitation only.
