The KISPLATFORM workplan was interlinked in the following Work Packages:

WP1 established and promoted a European repository of knowledge and better practices on technological and organisational/business model innovations.

WP2 developed a guide on the facilitation of organisational innovation in services. Organisational innovation is a broad concept that includes strategies, structural, and behavioural dimensions. It includes competitive strategy (i.e., role of innovation, costs, people, etc.); structural characteristics of the organisation.

WP3 created a business community of 100 young innovative KIS companies ("KIS 100") with high growth potential via competitive pan-European innovation and business contests for dynamic innovative service companies and to give European innovation/service award for the most promising companies.

WP4 had the objective to partner the 'KIS 100' and other SMEs gathered by the sectoral partnership initiatives with the relevant European R&D, business and investment communities in order to facilitate innovation and co-operation in KIS. A yearly networking event for some 250 participants was organised based on the format of Europe Unlimited's investment Forums, such as the Biotech & Finance Forum. The 'KIS Partnering Forum', an interactive partnering event, allowed 'KIS 100' companies to network with other KIS companies and to explore synergies with R&D related businesses, investors and strategic partners.

WP5 consisted of the establishment and maintenance of the communication platform - communication and marketing tools supporting the specific activities for the platform which also included dissemination activities. The central tools were the website, the Extranet and the newsletters.

WP6 surrounded the set-up and coordination of a Horizontal Steering Group, comprising representatives from each sectoral network and a number of external experts, which followed the progress of the platform throughout its duration and advised the consortium on the steps of the project. The HSG members also provided advice on how to shape the Platform's exit strategy.

WP7 was the work package devoted to Project Management.
